Alan Taylor in Terminator 5 Director Negotiations

So we thought hearing about the writers of Terminator 5 was bad enough to crush our spirits, and now the latest news of director has just sealed the deal for us.

Cue feeling more than slightly deflated…

Alan Taylor is in negotiations to direct Terminator 5.

Now, first of all, many of you will ask ‘who the hell is he?!’ He is currently in post-production on the Thor sequel… some of you may be willing to settle for Marvel movie nonsense but should you?
I’m sure Thor: The Dark World is a nice movie for the kids but is this not a possible tell-tale sign of the cash in sh*t we are about to experience from Skydance and Annapurna? The minute Skydance came on board this project has smelled… off.

    Thor: The Dark World
“Listen piss face, James Cameron is a choir boy compared to me… A FUCKING CHOIR BOY!”

What else has the mighty Alan Taylor directed? Well, mainly TV, oh and a little show called Game of Thrones which has had some critical acclaim and is great if you want to see a Conan The Barbarian that isn’t Arnold Schwarzenegger going around hearing the lamentation of the women – but to us things seem to only get worse.

Any positives? Patrick Lussier the director of the SHIT Drive Angry won’t be behind the camera.

We may be wrong, Terminator 5 still has room to change our minds but if this movie is anything like a sh*tty Marvel movie or Game of Thrones – then what is the point of fans giving a sh*t anymore?

The steam of enthusiasm has gone, and now the steam of freshly squeezed bodily waste has replaced it, wafting around the air causing a generally unpleasant smell of money (and action figures) or maybe we’ll have a Game of Thrones style Terminator movie with rampant scenes of mindless coitus and carnage.

    Terminator 5
Will the 5th Terminator be the future war movie fans always wanted?

All we wanted was a real Terminator movie, more brutal than the first, no soft core porn sex scenes, just a monosyllabic Arnold Schwarzenegger that says very little but wanders on its mission to end The Resistance.
So many things can go wrong with the 5th Terminator movie. We just hope we are proven wrong.
The movie will probably beat the last two movies but Alan Taylor excites us as much as Patrick Lussier and Laeta Kalogridis. It will probably elicit much the same jubilation as hearing the names Jonathan Mostow or McG did years ago.

Skydance was the first sign Terminator 5 had become popcorn genre Hollywood but maybe that hint of Annapurna may change the outcome.

We asked a fortune-teller to give us predictions on Terminator 5:

    • Alan Taylor will likely get the job.
    • Terminator 5 will be good but not great.
    • It will be better than the last 2 movies (T3/T:S)
    • It has the potential to be pretty good and open up new dimensions to the story of Terminator. A  complete new direction for the movie series.
    • A child will bear importance in the movie, a pregnancy/unborn child may play a main key role in the story.
    • Megan Ellison will be happy enough with the work of Alan Taylor to ask him to helm the sequel to Terminator 5.
    • Arnold Schwarzenegger’s wallet will get fatter.
    • A strong female influence to the movie on and off-screen possibly Megan Ellison and/or a strong female character in the movie.
    • Arnold will be in pretty good shape come the time of filming.
    • Arnold might not have as big a role as anticipated.
    • It will have future war elements but it may not be totally set in the future.
    • A man and woman relationship. Paternal or romance.

    The Future is not set…

You’re confusing biased with opinions. The mission of this website is to demand a better quality of Terminator movie. If for one second we can see that fans are being ignored we will speak up and not brown-nose the studios. Please remember our anger comes with the fact that this director has directed one movie in his entire career… Thor 2 and it hasn’t even been completed yet. We personally wanted a director with over 20 years experience in the movie industry (directing) and it is our opinion that Game of Thrones is a huge sack of “Shit, Shit”.

To get a good product Jim Cameron would scream down people’s throats. If fans don’t stand up and demand better you will be served a rubbish movie on a plate and only the idiots will sit and eat it and make out it tastes good when it tastes of bile.

According to sources this could be Arnold’s last Terminator movie. Do you want Arnold’s last ride as the T-800 to suck?

We do stay positive in the sense that we do want this movie to be good! We give the studio and the franchise FREE PRESS but they can’t have it all positive. That would be wrong of us. We are not ‘yes’ men and the last two Terminator movies; although liked by some, they are not ‘true’ Terminator movies. We want a ‘true’ Terminator movie and anyone that thinks T3 or Salvation are “true Terminator movies” should maybe hold out for a TSCC movie.

honestly guys how can we take this post seriously anymore when with every droplet of news on the new movie you spend a number of lines describing in great detail human feces and how it generates “a generally unpleasant smell”?

We don’t spend every post on this website talking about the smell of shit. We talk more positively than negatively about the franchise and anything negative is said because we care! We may mention shit but we don’t describe the way it looks or its texture.

If something is good we’ll get excited about it, if it sounds like we’re getting another talentless hack of a director we’ll pipe up about it.

        Look at the facts:

Skydance Productions makes summer fluff movies. The best film it probably has on its resume is probably Star Trek 2. We haven’t seen Star Trek 2 but we have seen enough of GI Joe, and GI Joe movies are questionable on many fronts, its entertainment value is most widely enjoyed by viewers such as small children and acid-droppers..

Annapurna Pictures looked set to be a promising film company and was created after buying the Terminator rights. The last two production companies involved with Terminator movies; C-2 Pictures (T3) and The Halcyon Co (Salvation) were also created after buying rights (seemingly on a whim) to the Terminator franchise… look how that turned out. Annapurna were bold with interesting projects then went on to release seedy titillation trash like Springbreakers.

Alan Taylor has directed one movie and it hasn’t even been released yet and it’s a Marvel movie (questionable claim to talent).

The writers of the next Terminator movie both combined have little talent with Avatar and Shutter Island being their best work. Avatar was awful and Shutter Island was so predictable and full of pretentious shit it was unbelievable. It had interesting elements that were wasted, please let’s also remember Shutter Island was originally a novel and whatever the novel had was butchered with that movie.

This will be one of (if not the last) Terminator movies starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. We don’t want it to fail.

We are fans too and we have our own opinions. Everyone has a different opinion and we even have a member of staff that likes T3… when they ran an article about that we got emails giving us shit for that too. So we can’t win!

Guys I can see where you are coming from, I think I speak for everyone when I say that we would have all liked Jim Cameron or Bill Wisher involved in the project in some capacity. But unfortunately that is just not going to happen, and someone like Chris Nolan would be A. too expensive and B. would rather make his own original movies, so what we are left with is the studios trying to pick up a director with talent who would be cheaper than a name who has been in the business for 30 plus years. Game of thrones is not my kind of show, but it has been hugely successful, as has sopranos which Taylor has also directed, and while I don’t like any of the marvel movies including avengers which everyone seems to love, The new Thor looks leaps and bounds better than the first one.
Now if the marvel guys are willing to trust Taylor with one of their main big budget franchise movies this summer, then that says a lot about the guy. Personally at this point in time I cannot form an opinion on whether this is a particularly good appointment for the T5 director’s chair or not, I haven’t seen enough of his work to form such an opinion, I’ll make a decision when I see more of his work. At the end of the day I’m more worried about the script, Drive angry by Patrick Lussier was absolutely awful in every sense of the word, a truly dreadful piece of film-making from the script to the direction and the acting. So I can not for the life of me understand why the studios have hired this guy for such an important franchise and possible Money spin for Annapurna and Skydance. Kalogridis might be a slightly better choice and it helps that she has worked with Jim Cameron on a number of projects. All in all It’s up in the air at the moment, there is certainly reason to be excited, It’s never going to be as good as the first two movies, I think we all know that here. Terminator 3 and 4 were poor additions to the series and I believe most fans don’t even count them in the continuity, but with the recent trend in hollywood for returning to a series’ roots and making movies much darker in tone, one can only hope that we get a movie that we can both be proud of and can enjoy as a solid entry in the series.
