When trailers began to emerge for the upcoming Terminator Genisys- the internet began rumors that a certain liquid metal cop, the original and best liquid metal cop, would be making a cameo in the movie based on the following shot of Arnold Schwarzenegger (the Guardian) and Jason Clarke (John Connor) throwing each other through a wall.
Even after Robert Patrick responded to fans on Twitter to tell them he was not in the movie, some people concluded he was helping to cover up a ‘cameo’ in the movie. So we decided to ask him about it.

While it would be nice to see Robert Patrick return to the series; we are not sure that should be with the reboot/reset. Arnold Schwarzenegger being the only returning cast member in the new Terminator movie still really bothers us as hardcore fans but also it could also be a blessing for the other stellar Terminator cast not being involved in the underwhelming Terminator Genisys.
If Jim and Gale Anne Hurd reboot Terminator we would love them to give Robert a role in the grand re-conceptualization/continuation of the original movies. Cast members like Robert Patrick, Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn deserve a special return to the Terminator universe,- not the awkward hipster Terminator nonsense being created right now which shits on the old fans and maniacally aims to cash grab from other franchises in desperation for success. We are alienated and we really don’t care about seeing Arnlold Schwarzenegger acting like a clown again… we are tired of it and we are now coming round to the view of some fans who want him out of the franchise as he is happily ruining it.
Re-watch the first two Terminator movies and rejoice in greatness. Robert Patrick has nothing to worry about… he is ‘The T-1000’ always will be and any bootleg imitations will simply not be accepted by us. Take your alternate timelines (a poor excuse to change actors faces), tangle them in knots and stick them where the sun don’t shine ‘cos it’s lame!

We knew that Robert had told at least one fan it wasn’t him in the trailers but huge Robert Patrick fan Carol Kraemer kindly screen-captured images of Robert notifying other fans on Twitter when questioned about a possible appearance in Terminator Genisys.

It is great to see a Terminator who has time for his fans and it is also great to see Robert taking over our TV screens worldwide! Only yesterday we watched him successfully completing another top secret squirrel governmental operation in Scorpion. He has done great things career-wise in both movie and TV, after talking Terminator with him and other RP fans on Twitter yesterday; other questions started to emerge…

Maybe he can’t play the T1000 anymore, but playing the human he was based off would’ve been nice.
Probably trying to wait to entice him for a sequel. McG was going to use Robert for his T5 as a human character!
