THE MOST ICONIC CYBORG IN SCIENCE FICTION IS BACK

(18/2/19, London, U.K.) Hachette Partworks Ltd is pleased to announce The Terminator TM Build The T-800 Endoskeleton – a brand-new weekly partwork collection celebrating the legendary science fiction cyborg.

    Build The Terminator Magazine Hachette

To celebrate this year’s 35th Anniversary of the original film, fans of the iconic cyborg can now build their own T-800 with Hachette’s new partwork collection – The Terminator TM, which hits retail from 20th February 2019.

Specs – The Terminator TM Build The T-800 Endoskeleton

    • Scale 1:2
    • Height: 95cm
    • Model complete in 120 issues.

With The Terminator TM collection, fans will collect all the pieces needed to assemble the high-quality T-800 endoskeleton (scale 1:2, 93cm height), together with a magazine featuring detailed and illustrated easy to follow step-by-step instructions, and fascinating features on the film.

The T-800 model is made with an exceptional level of detail and features articulated limbs and LED eyes that light up in an intense red colour and move from right to left via a remote control. The completed model is displayed on a stunning base with a post-apocalyptic design, providing the perfect setting to exhibit your T-800 endoskeleton in different positions. Check out the trailer of the finished T-800 model (below).

Originally released in 1984, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator), Michael Biehn (Kyle Reese), Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor) and written/directed by James Cameron, The Terminator TM revolutionised science fiction and horror cinema with an apocalyptic vision of the future that showed the dark side of technology and artificial intelligence.

The T-800 Endoskeleton, born from James Cameron’s fever-induced dream in 1982 and brought to life by a group of special effects geniuses led by Academy Award-winning visual effects specialist Stan Winston (Aliens, Jurassic Park, Predator), has become one of the most famous and influential creations in the history of cinema.

“If ever there was a fully-automated artificially-intelligent combat chassis icon of cinema, it’s the T-800, and the chance to be your own Skynet and assemble and own one of these red-eyed beauties is going to appeal to a lot of people out there,” said Steve White, Senior Editor at Hachette.  “The model is incredible and superbly made and stands at nearly one meter tall. The magazine that comes with each issue isn’t just a simple step-by-step guide. It’s going to look deeply into the world of the TerminatorTM, movie robots as a whole and some of the greatest sci-fi films ever made, but also cast an eye over the morals and ethics of AI, drones and many of the other real world systems that are already a significant part of our lives, pondering many of the questions The Terminator TM raised on its release.”

The Terminator TM Build The T-800 Endoskeleton issue #1 is £1.99 (regular issues £8.99 each) and is available at all good retailers in the U.K. and Ireland from Wednesday, 20th February 2019.

I just made calculations based on the numbers. According to that, the cost to get all 120 issues would be around £1,071.80. I won’t be able to afford that. I will start it off but if it comes to a point, I’ll have to get them refunded if I can, by not building it yet until everything is stable.

I was really interested in this, saw the first issue in a shop today. I too worked out the final cost and that’s crazy. If it had been a few hundred I might have gone for it, but over a grand?! Gotta be kidding me.

Is it a monthly mag? If its 120 months, isn’t that 10 years?

Dude I’m on issue 4 now, it ain’t flimsy it’s a good quality build its well worth it and it’s 2and half yrs. it’s out weekly. So far so good. If your gonna be bitter about paying 37 quid a month for nearly a meter terminator then your on the wrong forum, I don’t notice it,spend double that in a Manchester on a night out

Yup, this sucker also buying it, up-to issue 14 atm, flimsy !!!! you gotta be kidding
So it has a few chromed plastic parts but the majority is die-cast alloy and it is solid, well constructed and when complete will easily resale for twice the initial layout, if one would be crazy enough to sell it.
Nope, i’m not the sucker, its all you suckers out there that missed this opportunity to purchase this kit

This as anything but flimsy. I don’t have a huge income but can stretch to 37 quid a month which anyone could spend no problem on a single night out – at the very minimum. I’ve now completed more than half of this and the finished article will be truly awesome. Well worth it.
