Linda Hamilton has recently stated in press interview for Pilot ‘Shoot Me Nicely’ that she would love to work every day doing what she loves… acting! Linda has recently been addressing the issue of type casting and has hinted at that one role (Sarah Connor) has prevented her from being offered more diverse roles in acting that she is hungry for.

Linda Hamilton is now expressing in interviews how Sarah Connor (a perfect performance and iconic character) has damaged her career as she usually only gets hired to be crazy or a strong action figure. So when the opportunity for a comedy came along for the pilot of Shoot Me Nicely; which we proudly and Exclusively reported she would star in as the character of “Layla” Linda jumped at the chance to work with a friend on the project. Although at times it has been reported that she has been semi-retired (focusing on being a parent also) she has always continued to act but she is hungry for more roles…

Linda Hamilton on FOX Good Day NY Talks about her new Project “Shoot Me Nicely” Written and Directed by Elias Plagianos from espfilms on Vimeo.

We at TheTerminatorFans.com have been hungry for the return of Sarah Connor since T2: Judgment Day and we are not giving up on the fight for a return to greatness for the franchise itself and the return of Linda Hamilton- The Real Sarah Connor and The Mother of the Future!

Linda Hamilton Shoot Me Nicely Fox News

Linda Hamilton has aged gracefully, naturally and well and we can see her dominating the box office as Sarah Connor once again! This new interview with Linda Hamilton on FOX Good Day NY proves it and while Linda is experimenting with her hair style/length… we are only a few inches away from the classic badass Sarah Connor look which could spawn awesome new badass R Rated figures and collectibles.

In an extended cut of this FOX interview the male reporter complimented Linda for still being “ripped” and still in shape. This brings a new level of hope for her return to the franchise.

Shoot Me Nicely is currently only a pilot and we want this to get the greenlight for a full season. The Williamsburg Independent Film Festival opened with the premiere of SHOOT ME NICELY directed by Elias Plagianos’s starring Linda Hamilton. At the premiere in New York the cast won an ensemble award and Linda Hamilton got a well deserved best supporting actress in a comedy award! Well done Linda! #ShesBack

If you have followed Linda’s career you might be familiar with the movie Sex & Mrs. X; which we consider a satirical comedy and she was really good in that movie, as she is in all of her roles, she is very capable of playing different roles and we want to see her in more movies and TV shows! This is the Actress who made us believe in the Terminator story envisioned by Jim Cameron after all, without Linda we just feel disconnected from the franchise.

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines Logo

We have reported before that Linda turned down the role of Sarah Connor in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines as it took the character of Sarah Connor nowhere and then aimed to kill her off or at least leave viewers in a “is she dead or alive?” moment that perhaps would have been addressed in a sequel, or not… Instead of altering the script to suit Hamilton’s needs the studios simply killed her off- which was an awful decision in our opinion and it instantly to us threw canon out of the window because Jim Cameron, Gale Anne Hurd and many other key creative members were no longer involved in the franchise but also because the script was flawed, created plot holes and started the trend of alternative timelines to cover for a lack of authenticity and imagination.

We did indeed read the original script of T3 and it did not live up to the legacy or the legend of Sarah Connor so we fully supported her decision not to return, she has also made it clear in a past interview that she would return but only if Jim Cameron directs. While the original script is better than how the movie turned out then we fully support Linda’s non-return and in doing so she has protected the canon of Jim Cameron’s Terminator leaving it open to him to complete a trilogy if he so wishes.

    Sarah Connor Terminator Salvation Prop

After Terminator 3 and Terminator Salvation (thank you Salvation for including Linda in some capacity) Pacificor, a hedge fund, tried to revive Terminator in the sale of rights (which went to Skydance and Paramount) was initially trying to revive Linda Hamilton, Michael Biehn and Arnold Schwarzenegger for an originally planned Terminator 5 and 6 which William Wisher was hired to write treatments for but Skydance and Paramount wanted to reboot and center the movie on Jai Courtney as the lead star of a new trilogy of nonsense that would infuriate hardcore fans worldwide. Perhaps the whole point of the reboot was the fact they didn’t want to share a slice of the pie with Universal Pictures; who was originally tied to the enticement pitch for the rights.

We have continually expressed the need and want for Linda Hamilton’s return to the terminator franchise and we think there is a great opportunity for James Cameron to come back with his writing co-collaborator William Wisher to take the character of Sarah Connor to the next level, The Real Sarah Connor evolved so much from the start of the first movie to the end of the second that we are really interested in finding out where Sarah Connor is now! Is she off the grid, is she still evading the law after the events of Terminator 2, did she fake her own death, was she detained again, how is her relationship with John Connor after the strain put on their lives by the machines? Kyle Reese described the legend of Sarah Connor in the first movie, where is the complete legend here?

James Cameron has made no secret that he collaborated with Linda on the Sarah Connor character early on, as Jim specified he wanted to bring Linda back first and foremost for Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Schwarzenegger was locked in to T2 before Jim was even asked back by Mario Kassar (Carolco Pictures) and she has stated that he came to her home to find out where she wanted to take the character; Jim said in one video interview that Linda Hamilton wanted to play crazy for T2 which Cameron agreed with. Thankfully Mario allowed Jim to have a certain sense of creative freedom for the movie as he is a producer who likes to take risks.

The way T2 was constructed from there on was recollected by Wisher in an exclusive interview we did with him:

We wrote the T2 treatment “out loud” and side by side taking turns typing. it was very specific and detailed. It was the whole movie. Then we cut it in half and spent a couple weeks apart simply fleshing the scenes out. Then we traded halves, rewrote each other, then came back together and went over all of it again together, side by side. it was very collaborative.

William Wisher stated he was heavily involved in the process of writing Sarah Connor in Terminator 2 even though he wrote Sarah Connor scenes in the first movie- T2 had more involvement from him and the character of Sarah Connor had become more layered and complex as you could say Linda was playing more of a scream queen in the first horror fueled Terminator film (even though she was a badass by the end of the movie) “YOU’RE TERMINATED FUCKER”.. William Wisher is also set to reconnect with our favorite Terminator actors and characters for ‘The Terminator’ the Board Game as a story consultant after the game’s makers saw how much hardcore fans appreciate his involvement in the franchise.

Sarah Connor Kyle Reese The Terminator

Gale Anne Hurd is also a pioneer of producing projects with strong female characters, you know- real feminism and not this faux feminism Ghostbusters shite which is used as a marketing ploy to cause controversy and tactically mapped out a hate campaign to fill out theaters (as revealed by the Sony Hacks), that is politics folks and we don’t think politics have a place in creative storytelling unless your movie is a historic political movie in the first place.
Where does Terminator go from here? Another Salvation style total reboot or the reconnection to the only story we cared for? We guess Hollywood decides but it doesn’t mean we will pay to see it, we won’t be fools for a 4th time even if the studios try to tell us that we will love their pant-rip-roaring-fart of a movie.

We want #TheRealDeal and that means bringing Linda, Jim and Gale back first next time. If Hollywood continues to sit on the franchise and screws the opportunity for the hardcore among us; who do want this to happen then expect us to bitch about it until 2029 and beyond!
