We’ve been receiving messages from fans who were not sure whether to believe the recent announcement made by Deadline.com regarding the confirmation of Terminator 6’s new title- Terminator: Dark Fate.
We reached out to Paramount Pictures to see if they would confirm or deny the title.
We can confirm that the title of the film is in fact Terminator: Dark Fate.

TheTerminatorFans.com did believe the Deadline report as we respect the news platform (and the title had begun to appear on the movie’s social media accounts over the last few days) but their report did not cite a source which did slightly trouble us and understandably troubled some fans that have been reaching out to us.

Thanks for reaching out to Paramount and receiving confirmation. Great work. Deadline is a reputable outlet but it was odd for the article to not be sourced in even an anonymous fashion. With that said, I absolutely love the title. For me it captures the essence and spirit of the first two classic movies and the moodiness and tense atmospherics of The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Both Terminator 3 and Terminator Genisys desperately lacked the sense of foreboding and mounting apocalyptic tension of the earlier films. Perhaps the Dark Fate title is emblematic of Tim Miller’s direction and James Cameron’s influence on the upcoming movie. And hopefully they minimize the attempts at campy humor or abandon it entirely.
