Terminator: Resistance, the game, was at EGX (“the UK’s premier video games show“, which was held at ExCeL London in the Docklands from 17th to 20th October 2019) to promote the much anticipated new Terminator game.

    The official game description:

“TERMINATOR: RESISTANCE is a single player first-person shooter developed by Teyon. It features an original story based on the film rights for legendary motion-pictures ‘THE TERMINATOR’ and ‘T2: JUDGEMENT DAY’. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, nearly 30 years after Judgement Day, and expands upon the Future War glimpsed at in the iconic films from James Cameron, ‘THE TERMINATOR’ and ‘T2: JUDGEMENT DAY’.”

    Reef Entertainment

During the EGX expo Access Playstation streamed a 27 minute gameplay demo which also featured a Robert Patrick cameo (ala his T2 likeness) as a dead Resistance soldier and hinted at the origin of the T1000’s appearance.

This is very very similar to the 1996’s comic T2: Nuclear Twilight by Malibu, a resistance fighter (that looks like Robert Patrick) was captured by Skynet for interrogation/testing, once Skynet concluded the torture session, a freshly made T1000 walked up to the surgical table and terminated him, absorbing his looks at it’s default human shape.

sheer coincidence or they lifted this up from the old comics ?

Am I the only one who noticed the bad graphics. This thing looks like a ps3 game. I mean, I know is still in development but I am worried after seeing this demo. Hope I am wrong

Looks pretty boring. The hacking minigame is as laughable and there are way too many of them. Pathetic.

Did we really just get a gameplay trailer where the player character didn’t fire a single shot? No explosions or showdowns with Terminators? How dull. The music is decent and fairly faithful to the T2 soundtrack, but is otherwise almost as repetitive as the dumb Frogger minigames.

It is just one level that is shown where you stand no chance against the t-800 with a regular gun. It’s explained that you will be able to cause damage with a proper plasma gun. It make sense. What does not make sense is the dull graphics and the obvious scripting of the enemy AI. I hope I am wrong.

The hide and sneak approach is this level is normal and totally logic. The t-800 is no mach for the weak weapon the player is currently holding. There is gonna be plenty of action once the right plasma weapons are acquired for sure. They said also that this is the easiest level of hacking and that there is gonna be more challenging hacking methods.
What worries me the most is the dull graphics and engine and the obvious AI scripting noticed in the T-800 patrolling the area. I hope I am wrong.
