We previously reported on collectible company, Icon Heroes, producing a Terminator: Dark Fate REV-9 bookend for pre-order, well… we’ve managed to get our hands on some REV-9 soft enamel pin badges which were first available at DesignerCon 2019 to review (giveaway coming soon, stay tuned to the website!) – so, is the badge a must have for Terminator collectors… ?

REVIEW:
The pin badge comes in a protective plastic wrapper, with a laminated display card depicting the eye and brow section of the REV-9’s endoskull and has a butterfly clutch rubber back to hold your pin firmly in place. It has a textured black reverse, which features the Icon Heroes logo and Skydance Productions text.
The enamel is glossy and bright – the website image of the pin displays the REV-9 in a mid grey tone but in real life it is actually far more pale; almost white.
The detail on the REV-9 is pretty nice, the red of the optics stands out well in contrast to the black eye-socket, and the brackets around the optics are well defined.
The REV-9’s endoskull structure is also decently detailed.
The Icon Heroes Terminator: Dark Fate REV-9 enamel pin badge retails at ten dollars, which is an affordable price (in our opinion) for a collectible which can be used to customize an outfit (proudly displaying your fandom for the 6th Terminator movie) or simply kept pristine in its original packaging for your collection (for all you completionists out there!).
It would have been good to see what a darkened version of the pin badge would look like – as, in Terminator: Dark Fate, the REV-9’s endoskeleton had a dulled an nearly black appearance, so having the colors inverted would be a great variant to collect, for fans of Dark Fate – or just for anyone who likes to collect good quality sci-fi pin badges.
