The Terminator franchise has been suffering with a distinct lack of cohesive direction following the dizzying success of the first two movies; this has caused the fanbase to question whether the studios behind those last few box failures were ever truly listening to what was being asked of them.
Over the years fans themselves have sought to fill in the gaps left behind by poor writing, acting and directing – creating Terminator fan films to flesh out the once great story, and remind audiences why there is still a market for the legendary sci-fi action horror story of malevolent A.I and a scorched apocalyptic future.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day‘s General John Connor (Michael Edwards) returns in SKYNET – A Terminator Fan Film. The director / writer Chris .R. Notarile of Blinky Productions Inc. told TheTerminatorFans.com that his fan film…
“…is designed to terminate the franchise. To give this troubled series the proper ending it never had.”
Chris .R. Notarile
In the short film John Connor will come face to face with SKYNET, after decades of war, the resulting conversation will decide the fate of all humanity.
Synopsis
“55 years after Judgment Day, the war is over….. We lost. Now, the last man on earth will finally come face to face with the program that made mankind extinct- SKYNET.”
Watch
SKYNET will go online 4/9/21, at 12:01 AM EST

The ending to the future war film everyones asking for?
Terminator fan films are all over the spectrum, from surprisingly good to absolute garbage. This is definitely one of the better ones. The production value isn’t big budget, or even low budget, but it explores an interesting and novel concept, and does it intelligently. Getting an original John Connor is a definite win, and the music choices were excellent.
Bravo!!! This is the smallest of productions but it speaks GREAT in volumes of Impact. In terms of a true closure to this story arc, this is a pretty good answer to a much needed resolution. Of course as a fan of the Terminator series from day one with the first installment, I’ll Always want more Terminator. But this is a nice way to show what it could be like if this saga was truly finalized once and for all. There is a True Completeness with this ending that seems to include some story arcs from some of the now deleted sequels. In my opinion, all of that is surprisingly refreshing! It seems to give a new life and respect to the now non-cannon series entries a little and give them a reason for their existence somewhat. A Very Well made, Grounding and Satisfying ending!…..Well Done!!!
Better than at least the last three sequels of the franchise.
Very well done.
I’ll watch Terminator 1-4 and skynet from now on, and the loop is complete.
Liked the music a lot, by the way.
