Academy Award winning make-up artist, Bill Corso, has revealed a closer look at the battle damage make-up from Terminator: Dark Fate’s final act.
Bill Corso explained via an instagram post that this “Trauma” make-up was inspired by the work of Stan Winston Studio and Jeff Dawn on the first 3 Terminator movies and was brought to life by blending practical and CG FX.
Bill’s designs/rough sculpts were passed over to the team at Legacy Effects who then gave perfected practical appliances for Corso to work with – then ILM did the rest of the work to bring Battle Damaged Carl to life on the big-screen.
Bill Corso was also responsible for doing battle make-up for Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes). Bill is very fond of the actress and made the following post on instagram.
Bill Corso also painted the awesome T-800 stunt mask used in the movie’s production – the aforementioned mask was most recently seen worn by Natalia on Jimmy Kimmel Live’s Halloween episode.

I believe that the “Carl” make up is the best The T-800 has looked since Jeff’s work in T2.
Actually, Carl is the best Arnie has looked since coming back to the movies in general…
Really loved the battle damage progress on Carl.
