Linda Hamilton is back as Sarah Connor in Terminator (2019) AKA Terminator 6 but where the hell is her son John Connor? More specifically; where is Edward Furlong? Well, as of recently Mr. Furlong was in rehab due to ongoing problems concerning addiction but has been making enough progress to begin to look to his future and start making plans.
This November Eddie is set to attend the ‘Weekend of Hell’ in Germany and if everything continues to go well and he manages to make a real go of a clean, healthy and sober life… do you think that he deserves another shot at returning to the Terminator franchise?

We live in a time of nostalgia. People love to see beloved characters/actors pop up in new works. If Cameron/Miller can pull off at least an Ed Furlong cameo, that would be insane. Personally, I doubt but how cool would it be to see that happen?
Yeah don’t get me wrong but I think Edward Furlong has missed the boat like thousands of times.
The guy has been in and out of rehabs,troubles with the law….
I would rather see someone like Sebastian Stan or Glenn Powell playing John Connor…that is IF John Connor is gonna be in the movie.
I do not think that it will be and will be the end for this actor especially that it has to win the Oscar of the youngest actor of movie with sci-fi for the time moreover the franchise restarted with the actors emblematic of the film of l It would be impossible to go on without him the franchise and not to grant him this second chance! Sarah Connor needs her son and there is only one true John Connor who can not replace him like the mess of Genisys !! Yeah! Give him a chance for the next terminator 4. If he does not get the chance to play the role, then I think Keanu Reeves is a good alternative.
I wrote this earlier but will repeat it again (with little edits).
I think that the ‘new little John Connor’ (Jude Collie) will function as a son (the little brother of Edward, could be a storyline for that?). Furthermore, after seeing the interview with Tim Miller and James Cameron, I suspect that John Connor is finally played by Edward Furlong, but only then in terminator 4 (for now part 7). Since Tim Miller has indicated that he wants to maintain the original storyline with the original 2 parts, it seems to me that Edward gets a chance.
Edward Furlong can now prepare nicely during his ‘rehab period’. A good replacement, if necessary, is perhaps Keanu Reeves, but we have nothing to do with that as a terminator fan because another actor than Edward conflicts with Arnold and Linda in the original storyline-feeling. If Edward does not get a chance, then the writers have written him down as ‘crashed/dead’.
A storyline may be that Sarah Connor, her grandson (Jude Collie) and the old Arnold (with obsolete skin buy strong skelet inside) are looking for John Connor who has been gone for a while. John Connor has come up with important information that has to do with artificial intelligence and has stolen it, he has been hunted down and has gone into hiding somewhere or is in prison. In the interview, Tim also wants to produce a storyline that is slowly being built up.
Then the new part would be about the search for John Connor, the AI researchers / Skynet, and in the beginning of part 3 a ‘new’ meeting between Sarah, the wife of John Connor, grandson ‘little John Connor’ and T800 Arnold, and being chased by an unknown type of terminator, T1000 again? The ‘new’ T800 is Just in a design fase so that is something for a new part. In the end Tim, James and the writers can go so far with the storyline. What do you think?
I will say that it’s quite possible what you say but Edward Furlong will already be there in Terminator 6 and will play John in the future tandit that actor Jude Colie will play John (Edwrad Furlong) younger but with flashbacks and that will be the false john and the truth will already be on the way to Skynet (future).

Be cool if John is in hiding maybe in Mexico or somewhere like that. Sky net is trying to locate him but can’t so they send terminators back to last known place he may have been and start to tear crap up lookjng for him. This brings Sarah Connor back out to help protect those the terminators are coming after for information on wearabouts of John.
Not to be harsh but He is looking a far cry from the military hero we got a glimpse of at the start of Terminator 2. Even if he cleaned up his act and got in decent shape; I just don’t think its going to quite match up. I just really wonder how they will explain the absence of the character because I have a feeling that we won’t get John connor in this one aside from a possible flashback.
He will not be absent in the film he will play in the future and in the past it will be the actor jude colie
I like Edward Furlong but In my opinion John Connor have to look like Michael Edwards. Like in T2.

I hope Edward Furlong returns. Is character in T2 was so over the top and excellent. I’m 56, and enjoy watching a 12 year old teach a killer Terminator how to talk like a twelve year old. So funny. Excellent chemistry they all had between them. Hope to you you in T6 Ed, your awesome, plus the movie won’t be the same with out you….
